The measure is oriented towards creating long-term processes that will contribute to active participation in culture and arts. The aim of the measure is also to provide better access to culture while recognizing the needs of audiences taking into account their different social and economic background.

The measure was envisaged as a public call for funding of projects and programmes oriented to audience development in different fields of culture and tarts. Special attention was given to groups with special needs – children and youth, elderly, people with special needs, members of linguistic and national minorities, citizens situated in geographically distant areas and those citizens living in Areas of Special State Concern (Područja posebne državne skrbi-PPDS).

The implementation of the measure showed the need for more such calls and a more long-term strategy towards audience development and development of access to culture. 

Resultados esperados a través de la implementación de la medida:

The Call for Support to Audience Development was announced in September 2017 and it enticed 587 applications and showed that such an initiative was very much needed in the artistic and cultural sector in Croatia. The special Committee selected 27 programmes that were connected to these fields: theatre – 4 programmes; film/media – 2 programmes; dance – 4 programmes; books – 5 programmes; music – 6 programmes; visual arts – 3 programmes; museums – 2 programmes; heritage – one programme. The results of the measure are yet to be seen as the programmes will be implemented during 2018.

The measure is supported with 1 000 000 Kuna (approx.133 333 EUR).
