More than 100 NGOs, public institutions and schools of higher education are members of the Polish network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures[1], which is coordinated by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków. The Foundation’s task is to support the most broadly defined cultural and intellectual exchanges involving journalists and young people from Mediterranean countries, hold patronage over selected events, and promote the achievements of the Barcelona Process. In accordance with its statutes, the Foundation operates as a “network of networks”, an information-sharing platform for national networks of institutions active in cultural cooperation. The three-year action programme of the Foundation for the years 2012-2014 builds on the successful efforts of the organisation in the previous period, underscoring the intercultural mission of the Foundation and trying to make an appropriate and effective response to the emerging challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean region, including in particular the democratic-transformation processes in Northern African countries, as well as the global economic crisis. The Foundation’s strategic focus remains on Culture and Creativity, Education and Intercultural Teaching, Urban Spaces and Citizenship, and Media and Public Opinion.
