The goal of the funding programme "Strategic Funding for International Events" is to ensure the continuity and the sustainable financing of international art events organised in Lithuania. The purpose of those events is to present, disseminate and popularise Lithuanian and foreign art of the highest artistic and professional level to the Lithuanian society, and to promote cultural or artistic development in Lithuania.
In 2019, the selected international art events received funding for three years, starting the partnership in fulfilling the strategic directions of the Lithuanian Council for Culture and strategic objectives of the Ministry of Culture.
Funding was allocated to 16 projects in 2018 and 17 projects in 2019.
In 2018 and 2019 respectively, USD 136 200 and USD 130 744 was allocated for the implementation of the measure.
