Describe the main features of the policy/measure:
Encourage film production. It is important to highlight the so-called "selective aids for feature films", which are aimed at projects with a special cinematographic, cultural or social value, of a documentary nature, incorporation of new filmmakers or of an experimental nature. Although there is no line of aid targeted at young people, new filmmakers (1st and 2nd films), who are generally young, are encouraged through the aids mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

They are announced annually. The amounts generally remain the same each year. Selective aid for the production of feature films: €7,076,600/year. General aid for the production of feature films: €35,000,000 for 2019. Grants for the production of short films: 400,000 €/year Aid for the production of short films in process: 600,000 €/year Aid for distribution: aid to independent distributors to promote the promotion of feature films and groups of short films, both EU and Ibero-American, in cinemas. 4,000,000 euros. Aid for the organisation of festivals: aid for the organisation of prestigious film festivals and competitions held in Spain 1,353,900 euros. Aid for participation in festivals: aid to production companies to support the participation of Spanish films in international festivals of recognised reputation, with the aim of contributing to the dissemination of the cultural and artistic values of Spanish cinema, by subsidising the costs of participation and promotion at the event. 35.375,98€ Aid for exhibition: directly granted aid for cinema owners to finance expenses incurred in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. 10,200,000 euros This aid was established on an extraordinary basis in Royal Decree-Law 17/2020 of 5 May 2020, which approved support measures for the cultural sector to address the economic and social impact of COVID-2019, and was re-established in 2021. Grants to audiovisual project laboratories and incubators: single call grants as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and financed with Next Generation funds from the European Union, aimed at promoting initiatives at increasing the professionalisation of the creation and development of audiovisual projects, through the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, awareness of the importance of marketing, promotion and audience creation, and the structuring of networks for the audiovisual sector. 9,000,000 euros
