Government-to-government cultural agreements
New Zealand has formal government-to-government cultural agreements with France and Italy and an informal agreement with China. The objective fo these agreemnts is to provide a framework to strengthen cultural ties between New Zealand and other countries.
Each party to the Agreement makes general commitments to encourage co-operative activities and the sharing of information in the areas of the arts, culture, heritage, sport, archives, broadcasting and tourism. A number of scientific, educational cultural and sporting exchanges and events take place under the umbrella of cultural agreements.
